JB's Story

Before we get into my professional credentials as a keynote speaker, I want you to get to know the real JB Glossinger. I have many labels – speaker, author, podcaster. But more importantly, I am a person just like you, trying to work hard and make a difference in the world. It hasn’t always been pretty.

I have made many mistakes in my life and failed many times. My intentions have always been positive, but I’ve learned that sometimes, positive intentions don’t always lead to positive outcomes. It’s been the same way in my business life. I have started many businesses that I was convinced would be amazing.

I used to dream of hiring all my family and friends so they would not have financial concerns. It was a very utopian view of the world, and I held onto it through many business failures. I even went the corporate route, moving up through the ranks of the aviation industry. I earned an MBA and eventually was buying and selling 747s and other large aircraft. What a high-flying ride.

Through all of that, though, I never found real peace and happiness, so I looked deep within and focused on spirituality and metaphysics, even earning a Ph.D. in the latter. Slowly, I started to transform my life from the inside-out.

It was about that same time that I first learned about the Internet. So, this two-finger typist set out to build his first website. I struggled at first, but I finally learned how to type (thanks to Marvis Beacon), and I learned how to get my message out on the Internet.

Next, I wrote my first book, Get out of Neutral. I thought it was going to make me a famous author, but it was a big flop. At the time, I was crushed, and sank into a deep depression. I almost gave up on my dream of being an author. This crushing and humiliating defeat eventually became a great learning experience that still motivates me today.

I also learned how to podcast. Within a few months of putting my first podcast up on iTunes, it rose to number one in the Self-Help category. It eventually reaching as high as 25th in the world. At times, my podcast has been rated higher than those of Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres. That’s pretty cool.

I have been through a lot, which has allowed me to become not just a thinker but also a doer, the ultimate action taker. This thought process that has allowed me to bring value to the world. It has allowed me to touch thousands of lives and make a difference. Making a difference in the lives of others drives me. It is my legacy—the footprint that I am leaving here—that moves me.

I hope that we will meet and that my work will help make a difference in your life—for you, your family and your business. All I want is to do good for others, to do my best, and that is what you can expect from me. It may not always be perfect, but it will come from my heart, and I will give you all I have. That is all I know how to do.
