Episode 2880 Rediscover Faith
[00:00:10] Welcome to morning coach today. I am so glad you’re with us. As you know, my name’s J.B. Glossinger, and this is your personal evolution system, the place to get your day started right. Welcome, welcome, welcome. I’m so glad you’re with me on this Sunday to get going, to take it on. If you’re in Australia it is your Monday, wishing you a great week over in Oz. Anybody that is over on the other part of the world, get your week off to a great start. For those of you here in the States or in Europe or wherever you’re at- we’re in 100 plus countries- hey, you know what? It’s a great day no matter what day it is for you.
[00:00:46] For me, it is Sunday, and Sundays mean that we’re going to be talking about spirituality. We’re going to talk a little bit about some deeper topics. It’s something that I think that we tend to forget, and, for me, as a metaphysician, I think it’s one of the most important areas of our life. I think we could spend every day on this because- you heard me say this all year- if we manage our energy and we manage our peace, the rest of life really takes care of itself. And so, understanding that, it’s a time to get a little spiritual. Now, we here at Morning Coach, we are not religious and there is a fine line there. Because spirituality, obviously, is religion. Religion is a pathway to spirituality, but it’s dogmatic, meaning it’s got rules. There’s specific things that happen within each framework of religion. And here at Morning Coach, we’re not about that. We’re about the deeper aspect of spirituality which is taking you into your own, finding your own way. Now, that doesn’t mean that we’re against any religion. The opposite is true. If you find a pathway that works for you, I don’t care if you’re Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Hindu. Whatever you are, if it’s working for you, fantastic. If you’re still in a search, trying to figure things out and it’s not really working for you, well, this is a good place to come because I will help you understand the world’s religions and understand things a little bit better.
[00:02:12] Anyways, if we look at the three major religions- the Abrahamic religions- they all come from Abraham in many ways. Judaism and Christianity come from a line back to Abraham and Sarah, and Islam comes back from Abraham and Hagar. So, Abraham had two wives and spawned three religions, and a lot of the problems we have today all go back to Abraham. And if he could have just stuck with one of the two or trusted God when he was told what he was told, we wouldn’t have all the problems we have today. But the truth is, if you really think about it, the three major religions of today are primarily coming from the same area. So, if we look at it that way, we realize that things are a lot closer to each other than what we really think or what we assume. So, what I want to do is keep you in that frame of mind and get you away from religion- not the specific. If it’s working for you, it’s great- but into more of a spiritual concept, a metaphysical concept of understanding being, understanding spirituality at a very, very, very deeper aspect, and that’s what we’re doing. So, when I talk about rediscovering faith- and that’s what we’re talking about today- it’s about finding what your personal belief is and delving into that. Getting deeper. Sticking your toe into the water.
[00:03:38] A lot of people talk about being an atheist. An atheist really doesn’t believe in anything unless science proves it. Well, that’s the opposite of faith. Faith is the belief in the unknown. And so, you’ve got to step back, and you’ve got to say, “OK, what really matters to me?” One of the things I find with atheists is they tend to be very intelligent, very intellectual, and they question things a lot. “I don’t know what this is. Prove it to me.” And to me, they tend to be very pessimistic. They’re very pessimistic. They don’t really have a great outlook, and I think a lot of that goes back to that aspect of of understanding the deeper aspects of spirituality, realizing, as we talked about last Sunday. in spiritualism, we do believe there’s something greater out there. We do believe in the hope that things are going to change and things are going to get better. And when you’re coming at it from an atheistic viewpoint, it really can be kind of a sad place. And I just don’t want to live in a sad place. You know?
[00:04:36] I do believe in the greater good, and I’ve had a great, really great, experience over the past, really the past 10 years, but past 30 years of my life. But 10 years specifically, really delving into metaphysics and understanding it very deep. And when we look at different aspects of spirituality, even going back to the Upanishads and the Vedas, years and years ago, and we look at science now in quantum mechanics, we’re starting to understand that there is an energy that is moving, and the Vedas and the Upanishads had it right even as our modern scientists figure this stuff out. So, for me, faith is what’s so important because it’s the belief in the unknown. It’s really having faith in something that you don’t really know is true because there is no science behind it. And I want you to have faith. I want you to rediscover that. I want you to rediscover the joy of having faith in something that isn’t there but is going to help you move forward and take some of the burden off. And I think the real power of having faith is that when we are working about life and we’re trying to figure this thing out we realize that there’s this big illusion. And the illusion is created by the ego and the illusion is when we are stuck in our mind. And so, let’s say you are atheist, and you’re listening today, and you’re like, “J.B., I don’t want anything to do with faith.” I’m like, “OK, well, let’s talk about the illusion.
[00:06:03] So, we have this illusion that we think we are living in a world that we’re living in, and the is truth is we are creating that illusion; meaning we are really the perceptions that we’re putting out there. We are the ones that are creating the world that we live in with our vision. You have a different world than I do. We all have a different world. So, when you don’t believe in anything and then you have this illusion that you’re living in, it just starts to get bigger and bigger and bigger. For example, let’s say you have the rent to pay next month and you don’t have the money. Well, all of a sudden, you get ahead of yourself and the future, and you get frustrated. You start to get stressful. You get angry, and you start to panic a little bit. But the truth is that’s not even real. That’s not even real because the rent isn’t here to be paid yet, and there’s things that you can do to get the rent paid. And usually what happens is you’ll do something and you end up paying the rent. So, all that suffering, all that fear, all that anxiety that you went through was an illusion. It wasn’t even real. And so, without that trust that a greater power is going to help you through that, you just propagated that illusion even more and lived in suffering.
[00:07:17] It reminds me of a story Will Smith just recently told about how he made this decision to jump out of an airplane and he was like, “I don’t know why I did it. I just thought I was going to jump out of an airplane. I was so fearful. All I could do is think about it. I just was in my head up to the day of the jump. I kept thinking about it, over and over again. You know, how horrible this is going to be. I could die. This is going to be a horrible experience.” This fear just overwhelmed him. Again, illusion. Right? And so, he’s got this fear. He gets on the airplane. They go up. He’s with the jumper and other jumpers. He’s attached to the jumper because that’s who helps him get out of the plane. They’re getting ready to go, and they go, “1… 2…” And they jump on two instead of three because they know if they jump on three, you can hold on. You can grab the door. So, as he’s going out of that plane, he’s thinking all these thoughts of how scary it’s going to be, and then, all of a sudden, he gets out there in the sky, and it’s one the most peaceful, beautiful things he’s ever done. He loved it. He said, “God, it was so amazing as we’re floating out. It was amazing. It is so liberating. It was this awesome feeling.” So, all that time period up until he went out the door was an illusion. It wasn’t even real because the only thing that mattered is when he went out. But he created all that in his mind. And all that in his mind was this fantasy that things are going to be negative and bad.
[00:08:34] It’s just like fear of flying in an airplane. We get this fear that “oh my gosh, it’s going to be bad. It’s going to be negative.” We think about it for weeks. Again, illusion. And most of the time we’re living in an illusion. My book, one of the books I’m working on, is called “The Grand Illusion.” And so, when we have faith- and this is a key point- when we have faith, we can let go and let God. We can let God take some of that burden and take some of that away, and that allows us to get free of the illusion. So, even if you’re an atheist and you say you don’t believe in this stuff, it can work for you because you can let go and let God. And it pulls you out of the illusion and allows you to focus on what you need to focus on.
[00:09:15] And that’s the key thing. It’s so important. We live in the illusion or we live in fantasy. The Powerball this week was 755 million dollars. So, a lot of people, what they did is they got in their head, and they just thought about if they won that how awesome it would be. And I’m OK with a little bit of daydreaming. But when that becomes the constant theme that you take your vision away from what is really going to work for you because only one out of 244 million people won, then it’s actually counterproductive to what we’re trying to do, and that is to have faith and put action plans together and make it work.
[00:09:52] So, again, having faith is a critical thing. And allowing yourself to get out of the illusion is really what we’re doing by having faith, by understanding that the greater good is conspiring for you. I love that belief. Life is a lot about beliefs, and when you can have powerful beliefs, all of a sudden, things can change. And when I look at your beliefs, I can know what you’re feeling and how you’re feeling. And so, we’ve got to really check on our beliefs once in a while. Now, this is an inner path: it’s not an outer path. And I think that’s what’s so critical is that, again, a lot of people will go to religion, and they’ll try to find the Truth. You’ve always heard the Truth. They’ll try to find the Answer, and the Answer is not external. It’s internal. Now, does that mean that you don’t go to your synagogue? You don’t go to your church? You don’t go to your mosque? You don’t read your spiritual text? No. You read them. You go, because it’s the connection to the spiritual that I want you to get. Whether you are reading “The Course of Miracles,” “The Impersonal Life,” or all the different books that are out there. Sometimes it’s not even about the message, it’s just about the connection. I can find my god in any book or any spiritual text. I can find my God in any church, mosque, or synagogue. It doesn’t matter whether you’re Protestant or Catholic. It doesn’t matter whether you’re Jewish or Muslim. Doesn’t matter whether you follow Islam. I can find my God in all those areas. And it’s a beautiful thing.
[00:11:18] Now, the term “God” is a very rough word. I mean, more people have died for that word than any other word in the English language. And the truth is it’s a tough word because of what it represents. But for me, I grew up Catholic, and so it’s the word I use. Some people use “universe.” Some people use “energy.” Whatever it is for you. It’s understanding that faith in this greater good, this universal flow, this energy that’s out there helping you. And that’s where I want you to be. And I can find that in any spiritual context because of my personal belief that we are a slice of that divinity. That’s what I believe. I believe we’re here to experience all the good, all the bad without judgment. We’re just here to experience life. And when you get there, you start to discover this inner path. This inner path will lead you where you need to go. And that’s where you’ve got to start to recognize this intuition that you have and start to trust and, as Michael Singer taught us, to surrender. Surrender to life. Allow life to come to you. Have faith. Allow things to start to happen for you, and live your life with this experience. And it’s a lot of fun. It really is. When you start to get there.
[00:12:29] So, recognize that the outer struggle is actually an inner struggle. And the truth is that we are living in an illusion created by the collective consciousness and we can step out of that illusion and we can start to create something great for ourselves. And we do that by following the inner path. We also do that with mentors and coaches and teachers. Follow people that have figured this stuff out. You know Napoleon Hill had a mental mastermind where he would meet with his spiritual leaders in his mind and he would meditate. There are ways that you could do things that are different. We don’t have to do everything that’s the same. I mean, I created Morning Coach out of the blue. It’s really a creation. This is the episode 2880, and it’s creating. It’s just a different way to learn. It’s a different way to do things. And it’s bringing the ideas and thoughts that have gotten me to where I am my life to help you get to where you’re going, and you can do the exact same thing just by plugging into the right systems.
[00:13:33] Personally, I believe this is one of the best systems that you can plug into. I personally believe I am just a vessel, and it’s just coming through me, and it’s why I listen to Morning Coach when I’m done with it, because I want to hear the things that I said because this is all stream of consciousness. This is just coming from my heart and through me to you, and it’s there for you to listen to. So, whatever you believe, I’m not here to step on your beliefs. I’m here to add to them and say, “Get a little bit deeper. Open your mind. Open your heart. Allow things to work for you.” Because at the end of the day, what we’re working on is to help you manage your peace and manage your energy. And if I can help you get out of that illusion of self-doubt, of negativity, of worry, of anxiety, then I’m helping you get clear, which is going to put you on a path to become more productive, and that’s really the secret to having faith.
[00:14:25] So, today as you go out, I’m going to send you massive peace. and you remember when I was… if you haven’t heard me before, when I was growing up Catholic, one of my favorite parts of church used to be to shake everybody’s hand and say, “Peace be with you.” And so, today I want to send you some peace, and I want to help you rediscover faith as you go out and live your day today. So, let’s go out and do it. Let’s put some great energy out there. It’s been a great week. Next week I’ve got another one on finding more joy as we come to the end of this wonderful month of August and get into the fall season which is awesome. We’re going to keep going at it every day. By the way, if you don’t mind going on iTunes: subscribe, rate, review, share. It really helps us get this message out, and, as you know, that’s what this is about. It’s about changing the world.
[00:15:12] By the way, this week we’ve got a new website coming up, and we’re going to be putting all the transcripts up, slowly but surely. A couple a day. Eventually, we’re going to have all the transcripts from all the CoachCasts up. We’re going to be doing some other cool, groovy things in the blog. So, you can start checking out the site, and I’ll let you know later this week when we get it up. But there’s going to be a brand new MorningCoach.com. Not the Course area. So, with M/M coming- Meditation and Mindfulness for Busy Professionals- that will be in the course area. The course is going to be exactly the same. Don’t worry about your logins. Nothing’s changing there. It’s just the surface area of the blog and all the structure of the front end of this site, and then putting up all the transcripts and stuff. That’s what’s going on. So, I will keep you informed, and I appreciate you being a part of this. I truly do. Get out there. Have a fantastic day. I will be back with more right here to get your day started tomorrow morning to give you some morning motivation. OK. Get out there! Have a great one!
