Episode 2892 Prosperity and Self Care
[00:00:10] Good morning and welcome to Morning Coach today. I am so glad you’re with us. As you know, my name’s J.B. Glossinger and this is your personal evolution system, the place to get your day started right. Welcome, welcome, welcome, and I’m so glad you’re with me. It is Friday, and you know we love Fridays here at Morning Coach because it is about the energy, it is about the positivity, it is about keeping, putting that out there every day.
[00:00:38] And you know what? I got to just give you an update. We are prepared. We are getting ready. Hurricane Irma is coming into our area. At least, it looks like at this point Friday morning, it looks like it will be coming through this weekend at some point. Hopefully, we’re lucky, and it blows east and it misses us. But there is a good chance that it may be coming through this direction. So, love the good energy and the thoughts and prayers. Just kind of an update from me.
[00:01:06] You know, we got the house all boarded up. We have the new house which we’ve been in about six months, and we’ve actually got two windows changed so far. A lot of the windows are on back order, and we’re getting ready to put impact throughout the house. And you haven’t, if you haven’t seen the house, we’ve got a lot of glass. I mean, literally, it’s all windows. The whole thing’s windows. It overlooks this little Everglade, Everglades’ runoff channel, which, actually, they’ve emptied which is pretty freaky. They took all the water out of it, because, you know, when we get all the rain, they’re going to pump it out into the Everglades. But we’ve got everything kind of boarded up. Everything’s hunkered down except for the two impact windows that we got.
[00:01:43] My only concern, I’m not really concerned about the house. We’re pretty in a good area very, you know, kind of locked in here. I think we’re going to be fine. I got a huge tree that I’ve been wanting to get cut down because it’s, it’s just a little too big. And my concern is that we may lose that tree. And hopefully it doesn’t fall on our house or the neighbor’s house, and it goes in the right place, and, hopefully, it just stays up. But that’s my biggest concern.
[00:02:09] Otherwise, we’re pretty good. We got 30 some gallons of water. I think we got 6-8 people coming over. We got plenty of food. We got gasoline. We have a generator. We’ve got pretty much everything that we need to kind of survive for the week that it’ll probably take to clean up and get us back in order.
[00:02:27] With that being said, things are a little bit weird here and funky at Morning Coach. I haven’t been able to get on Facebook and post a lot of things or, you know, actually, stay with my schedule and put a lot of content up on the new site. So, things are a little delayed on the new site even though Herman is out there and Leah. They’re rockin’ and rollin’, trying to keep things going. And obviously you and the rest of the Morning Coach community getting involved and, you know, helping us stay active in all those social stuff, so when new people come on board, they are welcomed in and they know what’s going on. So, I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. If you want to stay up with me, I will be posting some stuff up in the Morning Coach community and then on my personal Facebook page, just because it’s an easy place for me to post things up.
[00:03:11] I will tell you something that kind of funny happened was that my, you know, I had this dental surgery last week, and I’ve been waiting to get the tooth, so that we can, you know, I don’t look like I did 20 years ago when I first got my, my, or 30 years ago when I got my tooth knocked out. And my tooth came in, but the dentist is not working till next week. So, I’m still kind of toothless, looking like a hockey player over here. And I have to wait until after the storm. So, the storm’s kind of shut things down.
[00:03:40] But overall people have been pretty good. It seems like we’re getting, getting ready to handle it, and get through it. And I think we’re going to be OK, and, you know, we’re, we’re south Floridians through and through, so we’ve been through a lot of these. And you just got to get prepared for them. And hopefully, like I said, best case scenario, the thing blows off east into the ocean and spares us most of the damage, and we just get a lot of wind and rain. And, you know, kind of blows up the coast, and obviously, we want it to blow out east so it doesn’t affect anybody. But we’ll, we’ll keep you posted and keep going.
[00:04:13] In case you don’t know, the way that Morning Coach works because we have people all over the world, it’s actually Saturday in Australia right now. And so, in order for me to get this up properly so it’s up at midnight for everybody, I actually record this the day before. I never do more than the day before, unless we’re traveling or something, and you’ll be aware of that. So, I’m actually recording this on a Thursday. So, it’s Thursday. So, you’ll know. So, what happens is if the storm knocks our power out Saturday, there will be a Saturday Coachcast. But then Sunday or Monday, we will have to figure something out. Just FYI, and so, when you’re requesting topics or trying to get a hold of me or figure out what’s going on, I’m always one day before. I kind of live my life a day ahead of time. So, for me, it’s kind of Friday already. Even though it’s Thursday, I get my mindset in Friday. I start it off as a Friday. And the reason I do that, again, is because of the time zone issue, and we try to get this up at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, really for the first day of Friday which is actually 12:01 Eastern Standard Time. My time is Friday. So, that’s how we do this. So, if we ever have these type of events or issues- you know, I’m with you 365 days of the year- what we do is I’m always kind of, you know, ahead of time at least one day. And then, if something happens in between- we lose power, I can’t get to the Internet and be able to upload something- it’ll be the next day when we, when we’re, you know, the next day out. So, let’s say we lose power on Sunday and I can’t get something up, then Monday’s Coachcast would be late. And as soon as we get power up, we would be up the next day. Now, there are times when I do do the same day if something like that happens, it could be late, meaning I could get it up the same day. Like, say power went out today and I didn’t, wasn’t able to get Friday’s done, and I put Friday’s up at 10. There are days that I do record this on the actual day, but normally, the standard is to do it 24 hours before. So, that way, we’re a little bit ahead of the game as we come through. So, you know how we do this, and, you know, a lot of times when these storms and things happen, you know, kind of changes things up a little bit, and we’ve got to be ready for it.
[00:06:25] That’s life. Life is dynamic. It’s not static. As much as we want it to be. You know, there’s a lot of changes and things happening. And you just got to surrender to it and do the best you can and focus on, you know, taking it day by day and enjoying the process. Don’t get too far ahead of yourself and just, you know, keep rolling with it. And that’s really what life is. Right? And so, we kind of continue to progress with that. OK?
[00:06:51] So, today’s topic a little bit of Prosperity today. Sending you some love and prosperity. You know, prosperity is this, this mental attitude, this shift out of black into prosperity thought. And one of those areas that we need to discuss this morning is prosperity and self-care. You know, it’s, it’s one of those areas I think is so important. You know, I’m going through some procedures myself. You know, training with Sir and on a health kick and trying to keep my health a maximum level. I feel great for 48. It’s hard to believe that I’m 48. I’m two years away from 50 now, but I definitely don’t feel that. I give a lot of credit to the way that I take care of myself. Am I perfect. No, far from it. But I do try to eat, eat well and exercise and continue to take care of myself. Yesterday, I went to do kettlebells, we called Hell’s, Hell’s Bells with Sir, and this week’s been a little off on my training because of what’s going on down here in South Florida. But I, I credit a lot of the things that are happening in my life because I’ve taken care of myself. Even as far as doing the dental stuff, right?
[00:08:02] So, we’ve got to make sure that we are taking care of ourselves from a prosperity perspective because if you take care of yourself, you’re just showing God and the Universe that you love yourself, that you believe that you deserve prosperity. You know, I learned this a long time ago from Zig Ziglar that, you know, if you had a racehorse and you were putting him in the Kentucky Derby and you paid, you know, $5 million for that racehorse, you know, would you shove Burger King and McDonald’s down his throat? Would you have it drink, you know, a 12 pack of beer at night? Would you, you know, have it smoke a pack of cigarettes a day? Of course not. Right? It would never be able to run the race. You wouldn’t have a chance of winning. And Zig said, you know, in his book, you know, back then “See You at the Top,” he’s like, “how much more valuable are you than that racehorse?” And that really hit me strong. I mean, you know, we don’t take care of ourselves as much. And, you know, to take it further, a step further, from the metaphysical perspective is when we don’t take care of ourselves, then we really are putting out this, this message that we aren’t prosperous, that we don’t deserve to really have prosperity and to bring money into our lives. And if you think about it, it makes sense because if you don’t really care about yourself, if you don’t value yourself, how do you believe God, the Universe, is going to value you? Right?
[00:09:23] And so, that the basic principle here is that we’ve just gotta take care of ourselves. We’ve got to, you know, try to do the best that we can. We’re going to talk about sacred eating, Sunday, as long as I’m here and we, we have power here in South Florida. But we want to focus on this aspect of self-care, you know? And again, you don’t have to be a supermodel. This isn’t about, you know, you know, trying to lose a thousand pounds in societal’s kind of view of what beauty is. This is you doing the best that you can. You know? This is you taking care of yourself and loving your body and loving who you are and handling whatever that you’re going through right now with your health challenges. You know, just doing the best that you can. It’s not the physical or the outside that we’re talking about here. And I think that’s so critical because a lot of times when we start talking about health and fitness, you know, we start to talk about the shape of the body and the physique and how you look and, you know, that’s, that’s not what I’m talking about.
[00:10:22] What I’m talking about is understanding your blood chemistry, understanding kind of what makes you tick. You know, we talked about it earlier this week about, you know, how do you, how do you know what to eat? You know, what foods give you energy? You know, have you been to the doctor? Have you talked to your health care practitioner? And when was the last time that you had your blood checked? You know, have you been to the dentist? Those things are important, you know, and taking care of yourself even down to lotions, creams, and potions. And what I always mean about that is, you know, taking care of your skin, you know, wearing sunscreen when you’re out, at night, putting on a moisturizer. There’s nothing vain about that. It’s just taking care of yourself and showing, really, God and the Universe that you love yourself. OK?
[00:11:07] So, I think the big issue that I have with this whole health area is it really tends to be a vain area. Like, it’s about how I look and how I, you know, instead of, instead of how your health truly is. Right? And there’s a lot of people that are very unhealthy because they want to look a certain way. You got to love yourself, love your body, love wherever you’re at in this moment, and recognize that you can be better. And that’s my thing. You can be better with your health. We all can. I can be. You can be. We can exercise a little bit more. We can go to our health care professional. We can take care of ourselves a little bit better. And that solves problems later. And that’s not from a vain area of trying to look good. And I started to say, I’m 48. I feel great. I do. And I guess I look good. I guess. I don’t know, but I feel good. And that’s more important than looking good. I want to have that energy, that, that youthful ability to come here and give you this energy every day for the next, you know, 50 years of my life, 40 years of my life. However long I’m going to live. That’s what I want to do. Right? And so, I have to take care of my health. And we all need to.
[00:12:21] So, bottom line here is that when it comes to prosperity, I just want you to get this. You are so much valuable, more valuable than that racehorse. You are so much more valuable than you can even imagine. And, you know, I think back, if you’re thinking, “man, I’m not valuable,” I think back to one of my favorite movies, It’s a Wonderful Life that they play every year at Christmas. And, you know, George, you know, it’s one of my favorite lines, “when a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.” And in that movie, you know, he didn’t think he was valuable, and he, they removed him. You know, he said, “I wish I was never born.” And they showed what the world would be like if he was never born. George Bailey was the actor or the character, the protagonist in the movie. And we got, in a sense, it’s kind of the way we got to look at things, and that’s why I love It’s a Wonderful Life because we do have so much value to the people around us. You may feel you don’t. But you do. And you are impacting lives every single day. Right? And so, in order for us to do that, we’ve got to start to see the value and just take care of ourselves a little bit better.
[00:13:25] And that means maybe cutting out a little bit of sugar. Understanding your diet a little bit. Going and getting your blood checked. Getting the health care professionals around you that are helping you. And making sure that we are keeping our health the best that we can be, no matter, again, what health challenges that we’re going through. Again, this isn’t a vain aspect of health where we want to look a specific way. This is just your overall health. And that’s what I’m trying to get you to is not to be a fitness model or not to go gung ho. If you want to do that, that’s fantastic. But really, what I want to get you doing is just being your best self, being the best you that you can possibly be. And that is by the conscious choices that you make throughout the day. The conscious choices you’re going to make today are going to determine where you are and how you feel. Right? And that’s what I want you to do a little better job of. And let’s do that together. OK?
[00:14:17] So, I’d love to stay in touch with you. You know where to get me: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, all those things are Morning Coach.
